Welcome to the School Health Office
A Message from the Nursing Team
Dear Parents and Guardians,
Welcome to the Health Office at North Bergen Junior High School. As licensed nurses serving your school community, we are committed to supporting the health, safety, and well-being of every student.
We understand that navigating school health requirements can be challenging—especially with changing regulations and different needs for each child. This website is designed to give you accurate, up-to-date information about school health services, policies, and how we can work together to keep your child healthy, safe, and ready to learn.
We follow all health-related guidelines set by the New Jersey Department of Education and the New Jersey Department of Health, as well as the North Bergen School District’s policies and procedures.
What We Do as School Nurses
Our school health services include:
- Reviewing student physicals and verifying compliance with state-mandated immunizations.
- Responding to illness, injury, or health-related concerns during the school day.
- Managing chronic health conditions (such as asthma, diabetes, and severe allergies) through individualized healthcare and emergency plans.
- Administering medications during school hours when properly authorized.
- Completing state-required screenings for hearing, vision, height, weight, blood pressure, and scoliosis.
- Promoting a healthy, supportive learning environment for all students.
We coordinate care with parents, healthcare providers, and school staff to ensure each student’s needs are met safely and confidentially.
