7th Grade Mathematics

Welcome to 7th grade Mathematics and of course welcome to the new North Bergen Junior High School. This year there will be two words that will be emphasized thought the year. Those words are responsibility and accountability.

In 7th grade all students will be held responsible for all things that a 7th grader is responsible for, ranging from proper dress code, daily attendance, homework, and eventually quizzes/tests.  I believe that learning begins with the smallest of disciplines that is being in proper dress code and on-time. Eventually each student will be employed where they will be asked to wear the proper clothing and be on-time to work, school is the perfect environment to begin this learning process. Every job will require that person to perform the tasks that are required by the person working, the same as classwork/homework.  Evaluations, quizzes/test, will be performed to make sure that the employee/student is doing their job correctly.

The accountability is where the student/employee will be held accountable for what is their responsibility as per the teacher/employer.  All students will follow the same rules/standards as set forth by the teacher, Mr. Pein.  In the beginning this may feel overwhelming, but like anything else in life, the more you do it, the better you get at it. The more you resist, the more likely the struggle will continue. Students come to 7th grade as a child, by the time June comes around, the children should understand what is required by a young adult who is in the education community.

This is going to be a new and exciting year, as it is a new experience for the teacher as well as the student. However, an open mind, and adapting to the rhythms of the classroom and the environment, will help ease this transition and make our Junior High School experience a memorable one.
