Welcome!!!

I grew up in North Bergen and graduated from Robert Fulton School and North Bergen High School.  I had a passion for history at a young age and decided to major in History and pursue a teaching degree from Montclair State University.

I graduated from Montclair State University in May 2011 and began my teaching career at Horace Mann School during the 2011 - 2012 school year. I have been teaching in the North Bergen School District for 14 years.  During this span I have taught History to students from grades 5th - 12th.

This September will mark my 15th year as a teacher and 4th year in a row working with our STEAM Academy and teaching Civics / US History to our 7th and 8th grade students.

Each year I look forward to challenging and working with each of my students who all have bright futures ahead of them.

I expect my students to always be respectful of one another, always give their best, and continue to build their personal character now and into the future.

Some personal info about me:

I'm married to a wonderful teacher.  My wife is a 3rd & 4th grade Math & ELA Special Education Teacher in another NJ school district.  Both of us love our jobs and are deeply committed to them and the students we teach.

We love to travel to new places and love hiking, biking, and spending quality time with our family and friends.

I am a big fan and supporter of the following sports teams: New York Yankees, New York Knicks, New York Giants, New York Rangers, NY Red Bulls, Gotham FC, and Real Madrid.  Hopefully you are too, but if not that's okay ;)

If I can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you and I look forward to a great school year with all of you!

P.S.  In addition to having your school-issued chrome book in class each day, please see the list of class supplies and materials that I recommend students to have for our upcoming school year:

  • A one subject notebook or composition book.  A class binder with a specific section only devoted to History / Civics is also acceptable.
  • A class folder
  • Black or blue ink pens
  • Pencils
  • Highlighters
  • Small pack of colored pencils or small pack of markers
  • A pack of index cards

Optional (not required):  I will have a limited supply of hand sanitizer and tissues in our classroom to start the year, but if you would like to contribute extra supplies of that you are welcome to do so and it is appreciated.
