About Me

Hello,

 

My name is Anthony Vargas and I am a bilingual ELA teacher for North Bergen Junior High School. I have been a teacher in the district since 2019. My family roots started in Colombia, with myself being first generation American. I can speak English and Spanish fluently. I have a passion for reading and writing; my biggest hope is that students learn to love reading and writing. Aside from reading and writing, I enjoy lifting weights, sports, and nature!

 

My expectations of the students are simple: show up ready to learn and participate. Students are expected to give an effort, without the anxiety or worry of making mistakes. Mistakes in the classroom are key learning opportunities. My classroom culture will be based on mutual respect and team building.
