Hello Everyone, my name is Tony Griffo and I have been teaching Social Studies in the North Bergen School District since 2004.
This is my first year at the Junior High (after teaching at Franklin, McKinley, Kennedy and North Bergen High School) and am excited to prepare my students for their future as they become adults facing the world of Finances.
I am also more than excited to share my extensive knowledge of Sports History with my students.
I am a Graduate of Secaucus High School (Class of 1979)
I am a Graduate of Seton Hall University (Class of 1984)
This will be my 31st year as a Social Studies Teacher and I have coached HS JV Girls Basketball, Boys Baseball and Girls Tennis; as well as 6th-8th Grade Boys Basketball. I have also worked as an Umpire for Softball and Baseball (Middle School to High School Varsity) for 10 years in the state of New Jersey.
I will be teaching 1 course of Financial Literacy in each Marking Period for the 2025-26 School Year
I will be teaching 5 courses of Intro to Sports History in each Semester for the 2025-26 School Year.

All of my students will need to bring to class each and every day; their chrome book (charged fully the night before) as MOST of my notes for class will be posted as Material in Google Classroom for the students to follow along with in class, a 1-2 subject notebook and a pen.
CLASSROOM RULES:
1. I will be polite and respectful to every student.
2. All students will be polite and respectful to each other and me.
3. NO PHONES will be used in the classroom.
4. Students will have their charged chrome books everyday for class.
5. Students will have their notebook and pen everyday for class.
6. There will be NO FOOD ALLOWED in the classroom.
7. Asking questions and giving answers and feedback is accepted and encouraged; BUT TALKING IN CLASS IS NOT.
8. PLEASE be respectful to all property in the classrooms.
BUT MOST OF ALL: We will LEARN, GROW AND HAVE FUN
My extra Help Day will be Wednesdays from after 9th Period, from 2:28 until 2:58 in Room 131
